Editorial Policy

Last updated October 19, 2026.

Our goal is to give readers accurate, complete and useful information about financial products. This policy explains how we produce our content and keep it independent from the companies we're paid by.

Independence

Our editorial team decides what we write and what our guides say. Partners and advertisers do not write, review, edit or approve our guides before or after publication, and our editors are not paid based on the performance of any offer.

Our comparison pages show offers from partners who may pay us. That relationship can affect which offers appear and their order. We label these lists as sponsored offers and explain how we choose them on each page.

Accuracy and sources

  • We base factual statements on primary sources wherever possible: regulators and government agencies such as the FDIC, CFPB, IRS, SEC and FINRA, and the providers' own published terms.
  • Each guide lists its sources at the end.
  • Worked examples show the inputs we used, so readers can check the math. Example rates are labeled as examples.
  • We show the date each page was last updated, and we review our guides when rates, rules or products change.

Corrections

If you find an error, email us at contact@lanternrates.com. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the page's date.

What we don't do

  • We don't give personalized financial, tax, legal or investment advice.
  • We don't publish reviews or testimonials written by partners.
  • We don't claim to cover every product on the market.
